Collection: TWINS

A letter from the curator —‬

‭ Welcome to‬‭ TWINS‭, an invitational art show in honor of the twins Alex and I are expecting.‬ Twins do not run in either of our families. When we decided to have a kid and found out there would be two, we were‬ shocked, to say the least.‬

Seven years ago, while on a work trip in Texas, I fell in love with a painting of two baby cherubs. When I bought the piece, I told the artist that I wanted her to tattoo it on my stomach one day. A year‬ later, that dream came to fruition. (The tattoo technically isn’t done yet, but I plan to get it finished someday after the‬ boys are born.)‬

All of this is to say that the twins being born feels like a mix of magical intent and the universe working in mysterious‬‭ ways.‬ Thank you so much to all of the artists in this show, and for helping us create this extravagant altar for the boys who‬ are so soon to be.‬
